How Much Does An Oregon Contractors License Cost?

There are 5 expenses that you will incur when getting your Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) License. Some of these expenses will vary, and some are fixed. Here are the costs you can expect to incur while getting your OR CCB License.

Cost of an Oregon Contractors License (CCB License)

 

Cost #1: CCB License Exam: $60

To obtain your Oregon CCB License, you will need to complete 16 hours of training on law and business practices and pass a state test. The fee for this test is $60.

Cost #2: CCB License Application: $250

The Oregon Construction Contractors Board requires all applicants to pay an Oregon Contractor License registration fee of $250. This Oregon Contractors License fee covers you for two years.

This fee is usually $325, but from July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2019, the fee will only be $250. More info here.

Cost #3: Registering Your Business: $100

If you create an OR Contractor Business as a corporation, limited partnership (LP), limited liability partnership (LLP), or limited liability company (LLC), you are required to register with the OR Secretary of State. The fee to incorporate in Oregon is $100.

Cost #4: General Liability Insurance: Varies

General liability insurance and property damage insurance is required before you can get your Oregon CCB License. These insurances are available from insurance companies at varying prices.

Cost #5: Oregon Contractor Bond: $100-$190

To get your Oregon CCB License, you will need to purchase an Oregon Contractor Surety Bond. The price you’ll pay for your bond will vary based on the total amount of your bond.

Depending on what kind of license you are applying for, you could need a $20,000 bond, $15,000 bond, or $10,000 bond. The prices for each are as follows:. Prices are for one-year bonds.

  • $20,000 OR Contractor License Bond: $190
  • $15,000 OR Contractor License Bond: $143
  • $10,000 OR Contractor License Bond: $100
